Follower

A follower

Followers are the people of a god's civilization. Gods gain belief through influencing their followers.

Usage

Followers can be used in several different ways when out of their abodes, but it's advised to leave them in their abodes so they don't die. Uses:

  • Building Abodes, after construction the followers building the abode will enter and live there.
  • Repairing shrines or temples, after which they will begin wondering around.

Status Effects

While a follower is preforming various tasks (farming, building, repairing, ect), they will start to get tired, and will start to trek home to rest. Next to the info button on the follower there is a green button that shows how they are feeling (tired, calm, ect). If you press that button, you will "refresh/energize" that follower, they will continue to whatever they are doing, instead of going home to rest. This is great if you have the follower in a hard to reach place, but need them to do a task, and they can't make the trek home due to the terrain.

Special Followers

Special versions of regular Followers

Special verions of the followers were removed in 2.0 but will be added again in future patches!

Farmer

After Farming is unlocked, settlements can release farmers instead of regular Followers. These bearded Followers with straw hats differ in that they plant fields of Wheat on empty plots within an settlement's for free or outside for a price of 1 wheat.

Breeder

Breeders can be assigned at a Settlement. Their purpose is to generate Belief.

Their distinguishment from other followers is pink clothing.

Buffer

Buffers can also be assigned at a Settlement. Their purpose is to help other Followers, making them more productive.

Miner

Like the Farmer after unlocking Mining you can build mines which give Ore needed to build abodes and get more advanced.

Proposed Followers

The developers proposed adding certain special followers to the game during the crowdfunding phase, including but not necessarily limited to:

  • Immortal Bob: A nearly indestructible follower. Find a way to kill Immortal Bob to gain a belief bonus.
  • Suicidal Sid: A follower who, as the name suggests, frequently tries to commit suicide. Keep him alive for a belief bonus.
  • Fragile Fiona: The opposite of Immortal Bob, Fiona is extremely vulnerable and may be killed by the slightest shock. Keep her alive for a belief bonus.

It isn't clear if these Followers will be present in the final game.
