Shrines of Expansion grant Land Expansion cards that expand your area of influence on your home world. Moving Followers close to these Shrines allows them to restore the Shrine. Some shrines are found partially buried, and cannot be restored until they are entirely uncovered.
The more Shrines you have previously restored, the longer it takes to restore additional Shrines.
Note that Shrines of Expansion appear nearly identical to Shrines of Power, but the latter typically award a God Card that unlocks a God power instead of extending your influence. The easiest way to tell the difference is hold down the right mouse button over these.
