Resources are used to progress your civilization. As your villages continue to expand, your Followers will require resources to continue to build Abodes, and the specialty building used to create these resources are needed to unlock certain Advance Cards.

Wheat is collected by Farmers and is used to feed members of your civilization. Farmers are spawned from Farming Settlements and Farming Villages and are used to create fields on empty Plots.
Calling a farmer from a settlement is the same as calling a follower from an abode. A farmer will find a plot within the radius of the settlement and begin constructing a field.
The construction times for fields are very quick (<1 minute) and the farmers will immediately begin growing wheat from the fields once they are constructed.
Once the wheat is fully grown, the field will turn light brown and a wheat stock icon will appear above the field. Clicking on this will give you the wheat and the growing of the field will begin again.
Using the god power Rain of Purity will speed up the rate at which your crops grow in a field while it is being focused on.

Wheat is critically important for growing your civilization. New Abodes will require wheat to be built once wheat has been introduced to the player. Wheat can also be used to supercharge your Followers by giving them extended stamina and speed (This costs 1 .)

Ore is collected by Miners and is used to repair large beacons (as well as the Ark.) Miners are spawned from both Mining Settlements and Mining Villages and they are used to create mines on empty Plots.
Calling a miner from a settlement is the same as calling any follower from an abode. A miner will find a plot within the radius of the settlement and begin constructing a mine.
The construction times for mines are very quick (about 10 seconds) and the miners will immediately begin harvesting ore from the mines once they are constructed.
When the ore has been fully grown the mine a rock icon will appear above the mine; clicking on this will give you the ore, and the excavation of the mine will begin again.
