Details[ | ]
Effect: Farming Ability Unlocked
How to use:
You can now place Farming Settlements which will allow you to create Farmers. With these farmers you can build farms inside and outside settlements.
Description:
There is evidence of humans farming stretching back over 10,000 years. Farming was an important evolutionary step in human development. Switching from hunter-gathering to cultivating the land allowed humans to have a surplus of food which led to the development of civilization. Early crops ranged from cereal (such as wheat, maize and rice) to Fruit and vegetables (Peas, Squash and Figs).
Gameplay[ | ]
Unlocking this card introduces several changes to gameplay:
- Your population counter in the upper left will be replaced by a Wheat counter. Similarly, you no longer unlock cards by reaching population milestones, but by reaching milestones in the collection of Wheat.
- Settlements now release farmers instead of regular Followers. When a farmer reaches an empty plot, he plants a field of Wheat instead of building an Abode. During the day, he will farm it and add to your Wheat supply by bringing the crops to the settlement.
- Storms will begin to periodically occur. These damage all Abodes in the area of effect not protected by a settlement's area of effect. You can release Followers from the Abodes to repair them.
- It seems you can release Followers from only some damaged Abodes, even with the flag raised. It isn't clear if this is a bug.
